I never thought in a million years that I would one day, for a couple of days be living in a day dream. Face to face with the Indian ocean and walking along the white sands in the beautiful ocean city of Diani. Then it hits me, there and then the reality that dreams really do come true and mine was happening at the Kenyan coastline. My daydreams of walking along the shore was became a reality with my feet immersed the white sand.

A bit further from the well known city of Mombasa and a after very refreshing "tuktuk" ride, I find myself in the serene village of Ukunda. The calm of the area and the very soothing hypnagogic chirping of birds making melody, almost seemed like I was slipping into a beautiful dream. You see, growing up, a trip to the coast was like me dreaming of a white Christmas in equatorial East Africa.

Diani was exactly that, a dream, only the weather was perfect.

It's the kind of place that reminds you, that no matter how farfetched something might seem to be. At the right time it will be close enough for you to sense it all. For me, it was the feel of the white sand under my feet, as I walked alone on the shores of the Indian ocean against the morning breeze. This to me was just one of the many beauties that this life was offering me. Amother Destination, which are just another pit stop to life's' journey and that where we find ourselves might not necessarily be the final destination but more like a filling up station, preparing you for the journey ahead. This place in particular (Diani) was for me a sort of detox , cleaning up previously clogged up experiences. The calm and serenity of the beach for a moment drifts one to oblivion . A place where it's no longer about the many forms you can describe a place but, how the place makes you feel . Regardless of the scenario or the scenery we find ourselves when it's all said and done it's up to you to decide what effect things (in this case a place) will have on you. This place was to me a reminder, to appreciate opportunities, especially one like being able to live out a dream. Not letting a moment merely pass by but with every step of the way acknowledging that it's not just an opportunity but a blessing .

For sometimes we look for great adventures in the furthest of places, the so called must sees. Yet there are amazing experiences that are just within our reach right beneath our noses but we don't regard it. I for the longest time always thought travel was about going to the world most toured places and a matter of having a heavy wallet . You see there's a dream that is only attainable to you, it might be a physical place, country, city, village or even a none physical thing all together. Whatever the case the most important thing is that you continue dreaming and when it comes true be awake, be present and be immersed in it. So go ahead and always dream big. As vast as the galaxy so be your dreams.

"The waves wash away my footprints in the sand erasing the evidence of me ever being here but I know for sure that I was. I lived a dream that will never be erased but forever live on."
